Video - June/July Empties!

Hi Everyone!

     It can take forever to finish a product, especially a beauty make-up one, but when it's done ... what a pleasure to put it in the trash and say bye bye!
      Sometimes, you need to open your eyes and admit that you don't like an item or it's not working for you, so you have to let it go for good. All of these treasures are inside my trash this month, so watch what's make the cut and not!!

     Doing an empty video, is another way to do a review on products, a way to say what we liked or not and even hate an item, so you'll have a better idea on the long run if something may be interesting to have a look at it.

Get Inspired - Formula X nail polishes + else (part 12)

Hi Everyone!

     Do you need some inspiration to make your nails «smiling»? To be crazy beautiful? Well, don't go too far because i may just got what you need!

!!! WARNING !!!

The paragraph below may be somehow a repeat ... for my review on the products 
used this time, go under the last picture!

     I have on my nails a combination of FormulaX for Sephora effects metallic as well as primer & finish coat. Because the FormulaX is such a beautiful and tempting range of polishes and various effects that, for once, i couldn't resist and plunge head first. The best way to please yourself is to buy the Twenty-Two set which includes ... 22 colours and effects. Yes it's a mini size but frankly does it really matter? Nail polish bottles are hard to empty so maybe here, it will be different?!
What about the longevity for these ones? POOR ... 1 days!

Today, this is a variation and possibility for your nails ... enjoy!

     I'm still exploring the different possibilities with all of these exciting nail polishes out there and today, it's a very gorgeous and beautiful lilac metallic colour on my nails.

     Unfortunately, Racy applied a bit difficult, meaning you have to go fast for the 1st coat. Last winter i tried another one metallic and it was hell when i applied the 2nd one. It might be a problem with all the colours from this category ... too bad because they're really beautiful! I had to be careful because the drying process was a bit longer than in usual. As i mentioned above the picture, i did my nails at night and the very next morning (so, few hours later), i already had a chip nail. The next day, the polish started to peel off on few nails!! very surprising and very unpleasant!

     When it's time to remove everything, it work like a charm. So i can say that i may gonna give a last chance at the two last ones that i have from this range (i'll show you the picture on time) otherwise, i won't keep or buy any new one from the metallic. It's not always everything from a brand that gives amazing result!!

     Today, i'm giving you my honest opinion on the new Colorstay Moisture Stain from Revlon. Such product is especially useful when you wanna wear a nice, bold and intense lip color all day long and not spending your time at reapplying it every second!

     Between the 12 different colors offered at the drugstore, i chose 4 of them (and it was quite difficult, because all of them are really tempting!!) which evolves in some lighter shades and some in more intense/bold ones, such as:

  Cannes Crush / Milan Moment (for the lighter ones) and
   Parisian Passion / Shanghai Sizzle (for the bolder ones).

Review of the «Voluminous False Fiber Lashes» mascara from L'Oréal.

Hi Everyone,

    Time to talk again about mascaras my friends, and today we go visit one from the drugstore brands.

      One of the many from this brand - «Voluminous False Fiber Lashes» from L'Oréal. So, let's get straight to the point and see what can it do for our lashes:

• using long, short and rayon fibers
• longer, fuller, curled and sculpted lashes
• no clumps or messy results
• safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers

What do i think about it?

     This mascara from L'Oréal exists in Blackest Black (in case black is not dark enough!!) / Black and Black Lacquer but it is offered in a regular and a waterproof formula. I tried the waterproof one.

    For the 1st application, i was disappointed because it's quite hard to separate them when the lashes start to stick together because of the formula, the fibers and the coats, giving at the end not a so nice effect. So no «vavavoum» effect that i love so much! Far from the dramatic and sexy lashes promised, it was impossible every time that i used this mascara not to have clumpy lashes to the point that i had no choice but to separate them with another special brush because it was too ugly for me to keep them this way and go out like that!! Yes you gonna have during the day few flakes and worst, even with this waterproof formula, some product will transfer onto your under eye area!
        The formula is wet, no doubt but it's not crazy full on fibers to the point that you can see them waving you hello from the brush.
     No volume for me, no curl either, actually i always had the feeling that the formula was too heavy for my lashes! You still might fall in love with this mascara and maybe this formula will react differently onto your lashes than mine?! Who knows?
     Sorry, but i don't remember the kind of brush it is in plastic or classic but it's a small and thin one, nothing disturbing. It is totally possible to apply this mascara and having no morse or dots on your eyelid, so it's a good point for a natural effect (meaning: no liner!),

     

     The formula seems to resist to a watery eye but i didn't try the pool so i can only assume that it will stay on. Can i take it off easily? YES with face oils but keep in mind that i had to work crazy to remove this mascara.

      So, what are my final thoughts about this mascara? I didn't like it, will i repurchase it ... NO even at CAD$9.99 (+ tax) at the drugstore, i know i can get better ones that will achieve way better result and give me this «vavavoum» effect for my lashes, because that's what i'm looking for. One thing that i love ... yes, there's something ... the packaging is gorgeous with this gold, shiny tube in a weird shape, nice job!

(P.S: As always, this is my personal opinion about this 

product which wasn't influenced by anyone. Keep in mind that the 

result will vary on everyone, so you'll have to try to see what 

it does for yourself!)

Review of the «Définicils» High Definition mascara from Lancôme.

Hi Everyone,

    Time to talk again about mascaras my friends, and today we go visit one from the high-end brands.

      One of the many from this brand - «Définicils - High Definition» from Lancôme. So, let's get straight to the point and see what can it do for our lashes:

• extremely long lashes
• lashes perfectly defined
• brush offers a superb definition from root to tip
• fragrance free
• suitable for contact lens wearers

What do i think about it?

     This mascara from Lancôme exists in Black / Deep Black / Brown and Deep Brown and it is offered in a regular formula (and a Black in a waterproof version). I tried a sample of the regular Black one. 

    Since the 1st application, i can't get anything else from this mascara than some long, spidery and glooppy lashes ... so nothing natural, not even close from the «vavavoom» effect that i love so much! Actually, it is quite surprising to see kind of quickly the formula starting to stick together the lashes and believe me when i say that it's impossible to separate them ... with the brush (i didn't want to use a lash brush separator or i don't know how do you call them ... i don't want 300 items just for having some mascara onto my lashes!!).

        The formula seems to be in the middle of dry and wet, it's weird actually because when you start to apply, it's kind of dry and you think that it's gonna take you a lot to get something. But than quickly you realized that the formula and maybe the brush too, create that spidery effect that frankly i think it's really ugly ... on my lashes anyway!

     Yes, you get a really nice length but no curl, no volume and you end up with an unsatisfying result. So, you still might fall in love with this mascara and maybe this formula will react differently for your lashes than mine?! Who knows?
     The brush is a small, thin, classic one (no plasticky) nothing disturbing. Be careful when you apply it or you may be ending up with some morse code engraved on your eyelid both close to the base of your lashes and on your crease!

     

     The mascara stays on all day long but forget the splash in the pool because it's not a waterproof one. Can i take it off easily? YES with face oils, no problem to remove this mascara.

      So, what are my final thoughts about this product? I HATED IT, will i purchase it ... NO WAY at CAD$31.50 (+ tax) at Sephora for instance, i know you can get first a cheaper one from the drugstore and second, i know that others give me a perfect result for me in second. If i'm ready to spend that much money on a mascara, it's for something that i will love first hand! I already mentioned in previous mascara's reviews, i like the «vavavoum» effect for my lashes, that's what i'm looking for and i just can't get it from this mascara.

Because the FormulaX is such a beautiful and tempting range of polishes and various effects that, for once, i dedided no to use any and try something new for me. What about the longevity this time? POOR ... 3 days!

Today, this is a variation and possibility for your nails ... enjoy!

     First try from the Covergirl nail polishes collection and i have to say that i love this colour but i am much more disappointed by the lasting power.

     Constant Caribbean applied very easily, it's quite opac that's why i decided to go with only one coat on my nails ... maybe with two it will stay longer (i'll see in the future!?). With the finish coat from FormulaX, it still dry pretty quickly and shine superbly!

     When it's time to remove everything, it was crazy easy and fast!

Review of the «Huile Prodigieuse» from Nuxe

Hi Everyone!

     Giving some love to your body-face-hair matters as much as anything else! So, today let's see if this «Huile Prodigieuse» from the Nuxe can pamper you and leave the feeling that you're worth it.

What is it supposed to do for you?

• multi-usage dry oil
• 98.1% ingredients with natural origins 
• blend of vitaminE+ precious plants oils
• nourish, repair, soften face-body-hair

What do i think about it?

     Huge claims for this items and famous for many years!

This precious oil has liquidy texture, so be careful when you put some inside your palms before rubbing it onto your skin. It dries very fast, so you'll need a lot to pamper your body!! It glides quite well before drying, so you can cover a reasonable surface. The smell is light and i can't put my finger on what exactly it smells: floraly with something else, i don't know but it's pleasant.

     This been said, what about the softness or nourishment of the skin? With all those ingredients, i must say that my skin was definitely soft and i felt nourished more because of the body cream underneath ... because it's not a product meant for hydration and you feel it (if you have no moisturizing on). I know it's a multi-usage dry oil but i only used it on my body. My face is sensitive and i don't want to freak her out (beside, i already put some oils on my face!). About my hair ... to be honest, i completely forgot but there again, i already use one for my hair. 

      You can find this specific item at any pharmacies which carries this brand and it is usually offered in 50ml for CAD$26.00 (not sure of the price range) which places this product on an expensive side. I just don't see myself spending such an amount of money on something that i must apply on the top of a body moisturizer, just to search for nourishment and softness. I had a sample size - 4ml/0.13oz - and it was enough to use almost three times all over my body ... not so bad! 

      

      So, bottom lines, after the shower, between the body and the foot creams, i don't like spending few more minutes on a second step which can easily be providing at the first one. I love the idea of pampering yourself but you can do so with items that won't be so expensive just to say proudly that i'm using a luxurious item from France! It's me ... you may different, and it's ok. Will i be interesting at buying a full size? Sorry but no! Without any regrets, it's a pass for me.

Review of the «Pumped Up! Colossal Volum'Express» mascara from Maybelline NY

Hi Everyone,

    Time to talk again about mascaras my friends, and today we go visit one from the drugstore brands.

      One of the many ones from this brand - «Pumped Up!» Colossal Volum'Express waterproof from Maybelline NY.

        So, let's get straight to the point and see what can it do for our lashes:

• super volume up to 12X
• a plumping collagen formula
• a double shot brush

What do i think about it?

     This mascara from Maybelline NY exists just in Black, in a regular and a waterproof formula as well. 

    

    I must admit that it's getting a bit difficult for me to fully appreciate a new mascara now that i found my TOP 3. But i tried several times to look at the result with an open mind ... not really working!
   With the brush, you have to be careful when applying the mascara from roots to the end because if you wanna get volume and a full length, you need to start at the root, right?! Well, difficult not to finish with some unpleasant black dots on the lid, and i'm not the kind of girl who's got nothing else to do but to go back and do touch up on my work, hoping that i won't mess it up!! The formula seems to be a little bit ... i don't know, wet and dry but for my lashes the result kind of clump them a little, especially if you wanna build it up to the top!! NOT GOOD.

  So, yes it's possible to keep working and adding coats but i didn't get more than the initial volume, you'll say that's good, maybe, but when you know you can get best of both worlds with another one for instance ... well, it's a bit disappointing!

     

     The formula stays put all day long on your lashes and resist a watery eye ... thank God because it's a waterproof formula even if i didn't go to the pool. Can i take it off easily? YES with face oils no problem to remove any mascara but you can feel under your fingertips that you just need to work a bit more than for a regular one.

      So, what are my final thoughts about this mascara? It's ok for the volume but no way that you can achieve their claims! Will i repurchase it ... NO even with its small price CAD$8.99 (+ tax) at any Drugstore, i found way better!! As i already mentioned in previous mascara's reviews, i like the «vavavoum» effect for my lashes, that's what i'm looking for but can't get with this new one from Maybelline NY. Can't win all the time.

With a skin moving around dehydration, normal/combo/oily and sensitivity (yeah, sometimes, it doesn't know what it wants!!), i managed somehow for the past months to find products that work for my face.

     Today, i've decided to reveal all my secrets and tell you what i used currently for my night time routine.

     I'm still exploring the different possibilities with all of these exciting nail polishes from the FormulaX set and mixing different brands as well. But today, my nails are 100 % FormulaX, using in particular the nail polish that you gonna receive from Sephora when you're a VIBRouge : XloveRouge (well, i can't put a heart shape but it's the same thing!). For a total full gel effect, apply two coats.
      I decided to sprinkle a bit of Wham! to depict dying petals falling from trees this Spring!! (yeah, i know ... nostalgy is here!), but buttom line, my nails scream «vavavoom» like that and it's a nice change.

Review of the «Ultra Rich Body Cream in Shea Butter» from L'Occitane

Hi Everyone!

     Moisturizing your body to keep your skin happy is an every day job, finding a product that will deliver thy hydration can be difficult. Let's see today if this «Ultra Rich Body Cream in Shea Butter» from the L'Occitane can do the job.

What is it supposed to do for your skin?

• created for dry to very dry skin
• concentrated with 25% of Shea butter
• 24hr hydration from Apricot oil
• not greasy / quickly absorbed
• helps to restore the hydrolipidic film
• moisturizing extracts of Linseed+Marshmallow+Sweet Almond+Honey

What do i think about it?

     Huge claims for this items ...!

This body cream has a very very thick texture, which is not helpful first to apply onto the skin because it dries for fast, it's crazy, you barely have time to cover some skin and a huge amount of it is required to do the whole body!! So, we're far from any gliding. The smell is exactly the one frome the shea butter, so if you don't like it ... it won't be your new best friend.

     This been said, what about the hydration? With all those ingredients, it should be close to heaven?! Well, i must say that it was moisturized but didn't last an entire day. I know it's supposed to help dry to very dry skins ... frankly, i doubt it! On winter time, you'll still have your crocodile skin.

      You have one size offered at Sephora - 200ml/7oz -  at CAD$48.00  which places this product on an expensive side (same thing on the website of the brand - L'Occitane). I just don't see myself spending such an amount of money on something that won't last longer and requires so much product. I had a sample size - 8ml/0.27oz - and one shot to make up my mind. It wasn't enough to cover my whole body! 

      

      So, bottom lines, i'm not a big fan of the shea butter smell, was absorbed crazy too fast and you probably going to used up the whole jar in no time! Not sure it's worth that much money. I'm sure i can find something out there with a bigger moisturizing effect and a really nice smell but for a much reasonable price! Obviously, pretty much like any other product for your body, your face and not forgetting any make-up item, results usually varies, that's why we are so different.

     Will i be interesting at buying a full size? Out of the question! It's a pass for me.

Review of the «BADgal Lash» Mascara from Benefit Cosmetics!

Hi Everyone,

    Time to talk again about mascaras my friends, and today we go visit one from the high-end brands.

      Probably one of the most loved ones from this brand - «BADgal Lash Mascara» from Benefit Cosmetics.

        So, let's get straight to the point and see what can it do for our lashes:

• full and voluminous lashes
• gives the effect of false eyelashes
• big old-fashioned way brush

What do i think about it?

     This mascara from Benefit Cosmetics exists just in Black but it is offered in a regular and a waterproof formula as well. 

    

    From the 1st application, i was pleasantly surprised of the result: big, full, beautiful lashes, but i must say that the formula seems to be a little bit heavy for my lashes and after maybe less than an hour, instead of the lenght and curb, the result was more flat!! NOT GOOD. And then, i remembered a video suggested to use an eyelash curler few short minutes after the application of the mascara and bamm ... i've got my «vavavoum» effect that i love so much for the whole day! Couldn't be more perfect!!
     No problem to separate the lashes, so no clumps and no flakes for me (but i know a very close friend who wasn't so lucky ... so see, results always varies!). The formula is a bit dry but you can build it up no problem.
     The brush is a good old big one which definitely helps to obtain this result.

     

     The formula stays put all day long on your lashes and resist a little bit a watery eye but forget the splash in the pool because it's just the regular formula (i didn't try the waterproof one, i can't tell you if it's safe for the pool!!). Can i take it off easily? YES with face oils no problem to remove any mascara.

      So, what are my final thoughts about this mascara? I really love it, will i repurchase it ... YES at CAD$26.00 (+ tax) at Sephora for instance, it's worth the money! As i already mentioned in previous mascara's reviews, i like the «vavavoum» effect for my lashes, that's what i'm looking for and what i can get from this mascara.

product which wasn't influenced by anyone. Keep in mind that the 

result will vary on everyone, so you'll have to try to see what 

it does for yourself!)

Get Inspired - FormulaX nail polishes + else (part 10)

Hi Everyone!

     Do you need some inspiration to make your nails «smiling»? To be crazy beautiful? Well, don't go too far because i may just got what you need!

!!! WARNING !!!

The paragraph below may be somehow a repeat ... for my review on the products 
used this time, go under the last picture!

     I have on my nails a combination of FormulaX for Sephora effects as well as primer & finish coat, a Revlon ColorStay Longwear Nail Enamel colour and a Sally Hansen nail lacquer. Because the FormulaX is such a beautiful and tempting range of polishes and various effects that, for once, i couldn't resist and plunge head first. The best way to please yourself is to buy the Twenty-Two set which includes ... 22 colours and effects. Yes it's a mini size but frankly does it really matter? Nail polish bottles are hard to empty so maybe here, it will be different?! What about the longevity? AMAZING ... 8 days!

Today, this is a variation and possibility for your nails ... enjoy!

     I'm still exploring the different possibilities with all of these exciting nail polishes out there and today, it's a very interesting mix on my nails. 

     Red Carpet applied very easily but you have to be a bit more careful and fast runner with the Petal Pusher which is drying super fast. I like this combination of colours, something «meow» and dolly at the same time!! Bombshell suits perfectly this kind of soft and very light colour, love it!

     When it's time to remove everything, you have to work a bit more to get rid of Bombshell but nothing crazy.

Review of the «Voluminous Power 24h» mascara from L'Oreal

Hi Everyone,

    Time to talk again about mascaras my friends, and today we go visit one from the drugstore brands.

      One of the different 'voluminous' from this brand - «Voluminous Power 24h» from L'Oréal.

        So, let's get straight to the point and see what can it do for our lashes:

• dramatic, powerful volume for 24h
• innovative collagen formula
• ultra-large brush

What do i think about it?

     This mascara from L'Oréal exists in a various range of Black (because black is not dark enough!!) in stores (and apparently is offered in a brown colour as well?!?), plus a waterproof formula (which i tried). 

    

    From the 1st application, i hated this mascara which clumped my lashes like nobody business (even you can't really see it on the picture!). Impossible to separate them and if you take a closer look at the brush, it not a surprise because it's already clumpy at the source, so far from the «vavavoum» effect that i love so much! Forget the sexy lashes promised or at least for me, it never happened. I admit that i only used it few short times, maybe when the formula will get drier, it might become different but frankly i won't give it more try, i'm done with it!! And as it's not enough, few flakes appeared quickly.
        The formula is wet which makes it difficult to get anything satisfying and beautiful.
     I didn't really get volume or length because of the heaviness of the formula, so the final result is a complete disappointment. No «vavavoum» effect for me but you still might fall in love with this mascara and maybe this formula will react differently for your lashes than mine, who knows?!
     

     Can i take it off easily? YES with face oils no problem to remove any mascara.

     
  So, what are my final thoughts about this mascara? It was terrible, will i repurchase it ... NO WAY  and at CAD$12.99 (+ tax) at any drugstore, i know i can get something else and achieve the beautiful result that i like with others for a bit less! As i already mentioned in previous mascara's reviews, i like the «vavavoum» effect for my lashes, that's what i'm looking for and i just can't get it from this mascara.
